Questions & Answers

Q. What will be my total cost to register a domain name?

A. The total cost is $35.00 per year, and that price includes all registry fees. When you initially register your domain, you can choose to register it for 1 to 10 years. When your domain comes up for renewal at the end of the period you chose, you then have the option of renewing the domain for $35.00 per year.

Q. What do I get when I register a domain?

  • Your domain name and other information will be electronically submitted.
  • As soon as we receive confirmation that your domain name has been registered, we will program our servers to point your name to a web page that says, "Under Construction."
  • The domain name will be kept on our server in an active state until you are ready to set up your web page.
  • When you are ready to set up your own web page, we can host it for you (click here for hosting plans), or we can assist in moving your domain name from our server to your new hosting provider at no additional charge.

Q. How long will it take for my domain to become active?

A. You can expect to see the under construction page approximately 24 hours after your submission..

Q. What should I do when I am ready to set up my web site.

A. We have several web site hosting plans available. Please visit our hosting page and choose a plan that fits your needs.

Once you have chosen a plan, please fill out our hosting account sign-up form. Your username and password will be emailed to you along with instructions on how to upload your web pages from your computer to our servers.

Q. If I sign up for a web site hosting account, do I need to keep my current dial up internet provider, and how will I upload my web pages to your servers?

A. You will need to keep your current dial up internet provider so that you will have access to the internet. You can then upload your web pages through your internet connection to our server using whatever web page design program you would like. (You can also use an FTP program.) You will be given a user name and password so that you may access your hosting account.

Q. How do I get my site listed with the search engines?

A. Before you can get your site listed with the search engines, you first have to have a web site hosting account. When a search engine visits your site, it records all of the words on your web page. If someone does a search on a word that matches the words on your site, then your page will be ranked higher than others. In order to submit your site to the search engines, you will need to visit to the first page of the search engine and click the link that says, "add url". Then you will be asked to enter your domain name and email address. Some search engines will include your page with a few days, while others take a few weeks.
